    Great Tent

Posted by Ryan Gillespie on May 20th 2023

This tent for the price is great! Only reason for 4 stars is due to not having it long term. This tent is being tested for Sgt. Troys for a upcoming video later on. At the time of this review the tent has been setup twice in thunderstorms. The tent is specified as a fair weather tent. It is not designed for harsh weather. The first storm it came out with zero leaks. The storm had little to no wind, and not much rain. The second storm had heavier rain. It did experience very minor leakage in the four corners of the tent. The ground had standing water in areas, so the rain appeared to have seeped through the taped seams. There was wind driven rain for a short peorid. If it was a longer peorid of wind driven rain it could have experienced leakage in other areas but did not in this rain event (Again Eureka specified this is a FAIR weather tent). Ventilation in this tent is good. I have not had this in excessive heat yet. But as of now appears to have decent air flow. If you need more air flow, expect to pay more for a tent with more mesh. Now quality of tent. The tent is in a cheaper category of Eureka's line of tents. But that does not mean its garbage. It does use cheaper nylons and zippers over their other more expensive offerings, but they built it right. The tent will appear flimsy setting it up. But it does have robust fiberglass poles for the price. The nylon fabric has been taped where the seams are likely to have a leak issue in the event of a straight down light rain event. Any windblown rain could cause issues. Again what little rain did leak through in the corners was impressive when you consider the rain event to the price of the tent. It does have tie down points on the rainfly for high wind. That being said this tent is not meant for high winds. I do not know the wind specs, but I would say if there is a chance of storm like winds I would not advise using this tent. (Use your discression for if the tent need guy wires or not) Who is this tent for? Again this tent is for fair weather. It is a four person tent. It is more than enough to accommodate me my wife and my four and two year old. I have put two twin sized air mattresses in it with no issue. There is still room for gear on one end of the tent. I have not put a queen sized in the tent yet but plan to test that in the future. This tent is for a family of at most four who wants to put it in the car go out and have fun in the great outdoors. It is not a hikers tent (specified car tent), It is not a tactical tent, and it is not meant for the weather I have put it through. Also if you plan to camp in the snow or extreme cold winter weather this is not the tent for you. But if you have a small family and just want to go out in decent weather this is a great tent for that! If I have left anything out in this review look for the video review in the hopefully near future. I will try to cover everything stated here, and anything I've missed! Happy Camping!
